Individual Appointment Fees
A standard appointment is 50 minutes in length, leaving 10 minutes for note taking, future planning and any follow up as required.
Our fees from 1st July 2024 range from $210 – $290, dependant upon which clinician you see and their experience and qualifications as well as the time of the appointment. All of clinicians fees remain well below the recommended fee schedule of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian Association of Social Workers.
(After hours are any appointments from 5pm onwards, and for Saturday appointments).
Couple therapy Appointment Fees
A standard couple appointment is 50 minutes in length, leaving 10 minutes for note taking, future planning and any follow up as required. However, the first therapy session will be a 90 minute session given the amount of information to be obtained. Additionally, in conjunction with your therapist, you may decide that 90 minute sessions are more useful than 50 minutes sessions moving forward and these can be planned accordingly. Due to the nature of couple work fees are higher than individual work. There is no medicare rebate available for couple therapy appointments. Private health rebates may be claimable depending on your provider.
- Initial intake 90 minute session: $420
- Subsequent 50 minute sessions: $ 280
- Subsequent 90 minute sessions: $420
Late Cancellation and Missed Appointment Fee
If, for some reason you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please give The Harbour at least 48 hours notice, otherwise you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the consult fee.
If you cancel with less that 24 hours notice you will be charged a cancellation fee of 100% of the consult fee. Appointments to which the client does not attend (‘no show’) will also incur a 100% cancellation fee.
Please note that weekends and/or public holidays are not included as hours of notice, as these hours do not provide our team with an opportunity to offer your session time to other clients who are waiting to see your practitioner. We thank you for respecting this policy.
Medicare
To claim this rebate you will require a referral letter plus a GP Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or just a referral letter from your psychiatrist or pediatrician. Please click here to read the Department of Health’s FAQ for more information.

Your referring doctor will review your progress after six sessions. If they agree it is useful, they will be able to offer you access to an additional 4 sessions. You are only eligible for a maximum of 10 Medicare sessions each calendar year (this resets in January of each year).
Private Health Insurance
Private Health Insurance rebates may be available, subject to your eligibility and level of cover.
**Please note that both Medicare and Private health rebates cannot be used for the same consultation, if you are using a Medicare Mental Health Care Plan you cannot claim Private Health Insurance also*.
Bulk Billing
This practice is not a bulk billing practice. All of our clinicians are experienced clinicians who require added qualifications and experience and have to meet stringent annual professional development requirements to maintain their registrations. Our clinicians may reduce their fees in exceptional circumstances only.
